Description
They were two sides of the same coin. Light and shadow, day and night and eventually good and evil.
Long before the age of man before the creation of Hyrule even before the birth of the golden goddess' there were only two. Oni and his loving wife Majora.
For eons they lived in the paradise of the sacred realm never in need of anything. But they became lonely. In the night Oni came to Majora and together they conceived three daughters Din, Nayru and Farore. As the daughters grew so did their beauty and power and in the back of her mind Majora was becoming jealous. Suddenly they were the focus of Oni's affection and all the while her anger was rising.
The day came when the daughters came to their father and told him they were lonely. He told them to go, create the lands and the peoples upon it who will worship you. Majora was furious when she learned of this. She believed Oni had become a weak ruler and was not worthy to rule the heavens. She believed the people should worship her name, not her daughters.
In the night she went to Oni and struck down in a swift blow. This act unleashed the essence of evil which quickly spread to all corners or the lands. The daughters came to find their father on the brink of death and with his last breath he put all his powers into a mask. This masked housed his rage towards Majora and all evil.
The daughters became furious at Majora, not only for killing their father but for tainting the land they created.
As punishment they banished Majora from the sacred realm and slowly the fallen goddess began to die. She formed a mask to house her life force as her body withered away. No longer was she able to live outside this mask instead she became a leech, living off whomever wore the mask and forcing her will upon them.
Not taking any chances, the goddess' hid their fathers mask on the earth so that if Majora ever rose again there will be a way to defeat her.
